What this site records
Two things on this site collect anything at all, and both of them are forms you fill in on purpose. Nothing is collected from you for reading a page. This lists every field, taken from the code that receives it rather than written from memory.

Recorded with every submission
- The page you sent it from
- so we know what you were reading when you asked.
- Your IP address
- the address your internet connection was using at the time. It is also what stops the same connection sending the form over and over.
- The time you sent it
- recorded in UTC.
Where it goes
It is emailed to the business owner. That is the point of the form and it is the first thing that happens.
It is also written to a file on the web host, in a folder that sits outside the part of the server the web can reach and carries a rule denying access to it. That copy exists so an enquiry is not lost if an email fails.
Who else touches it
Cloudflare. Every page of this site is delivered through Cloudflare, which sits between you and our web host. Like any such service it can see and log the ordinary details of the request: the address you asked for, your IP address, your browser and the time. It also runs a check to tell people apart from automated traffic, and that check sets a cookie in your browser called cf_clearance. It is marked HttpOnly, which means this page cannot read it and neither can we. We named it by opening the site in a real browser and reading the browser’s own cookie store, which is the only way to see it.
Cloudflare Web Analytics. The same company provides the visitor counting, through a script this site allows from static.cloudflareinsights.com. It is what tells us how many people read a page. We see counts, not people.
There is no advertising tag on this site and no captcha on the forms at the moment. Both were checked in a real browser rather than assumed, which is how the visitor counting above came to be listed: it does not appear if you only read the page source. If anything else is added, this page changes with it.
Having it removed
Send the form again and say so, or use the Message us button, and ask for your enquiry to be deleted. We will tell you when it is done. We do not publish a retention period, because we have not set one, and we would rather say that than invent a number.
Use the enquiry form on the contact page, or the Message us button at the bottom of any page here.
What this page does not say
It does not give a retention period, promise a deletion timetable, or set out a legal basis, because none of those has been decided yet and writing one that sounded right would be worse than saying so. What is above is what the site actually does today.
